William Fung is the Executive Deputy Chairman of Fung Group (formerly known as the Li & Fung Group). He joined the Fung Group in 1972 , became a Director of its export trading business in 1976 and Group Managing Director in 1986. He is also a non-executive director of various companies within the Fung Group including Convenience Retail Asia Limited and Trinity Limited.

William Fung is an independent non-executive director of VTech Holdings Limited, Shui On Land Limited, Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, all in Hong Kong. He is also an independent director of Singapore Airlines Limited in Singapore.

He has held key positions in major trade and business associations. He is a past Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association and the Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee. He was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star in 2008 for his many contributions to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

William Fung graduated from Princeton University with a BSc in Engineering and holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He was also conferred with honorary degrees of Doctor of Business Administration by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
