Director of Business

As Business Director, Lyn is responsible for the Institute's operations, including finance, human resources, marketing and memberships.

Prior to joining the Institute, she was Deputy Director of the IP Academy, a Singapore-based think-tank focused on executive learning and thought leadership development in respect of intellectual property. She oversaw its business development activities and day-to-day operations.

Lyn is also an experienced trade negotiator, having served as Head of International Agreements (International Policies Division) at the Singapore Economic Development Board where she oversaw negotiations for the investment component of bilateral/regional free trade agreements (FTAs) and investment guarantee agreements between Singapore and countries including China, Australia and India. She was also responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of the Board's efforts to advise Singapore-based companies on ways to leverage on FTAs and other international policy tools to expand their business and to integrate trade and investment policy into their strategies.

Lyn has extensive experience in the legal as well as the financial services industry. She started her career as a corporate finance and securities lawyer with Allen & Gledhill in Singapore before moving to the corporate finance and investment banking divisions of Vickers Ballas & Co Pte Ltd (now DBS Vickers) and Citigroup in Singapore where she was primarily involved in equity capital market transactions.

She has a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence (Law) from Oxford University. She is also a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) and an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
